Spicy Grapefruit Sidecar
If the idea of sipping cognac kinda scares you, fear not, This concoction of grapefruit juice and triple sec (which you’re familiar with for making margaritas go down so easy) and a sweet-and-spicy rim is bomb.
Grapefruit wedge, for rimming 2 tsp.
granulated sugar 2 tsp.
Ice 2 oz.
cognac 2 oz.
grapefruit juice 1 oz.
Grapefruit slice, for garnish
Rim glass with a grapefruit wedge. Combine sugar and chili powder on a small plate and dip rim into mixture, turning to coat.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add cognac, Cointreau, and grapefruit juice. Shake until chilled.
Strain into rimmed glass and garnish with a grapefruit slice.
The combo of lemonade, blue curacao, and rum works miracles in this tropical cocktail that will make you feel like a mermaid.
2 c. ice
1/4 c. blue curaçao
1 c. white rum
2 c. lemonade
4 lemon slices
8 maraschino cherries
Put 1/4 cup ice in each glass, then add a splash of blue curaçao, 1/4 cup rum, and another 1/4 cup ice. (The ice helps with the ombré.) Pour over 1/2 cup lemonade.
Skewer a lemon slice and 2 maraschino cherries on a paper umbrella or toothpick and garnish drinks before serving.
Summer Cruch Mimosas
I have a serious "crush" on this delish way to start the day.
1/4 c. sugar
Zest of 1 orange
3 (12 oz) cans Spindrift® Orange Mango
1 (750-ml) bottle prosecco or champagne
Orange slices, for garnish
On a small shallow plate, stir together sugar and orange zest. Use an orange wedge to wet the rim of four glasses, then dip in sugar mixture.
Fill each glass halfway with Spindrift, then top with prosecco or champagne. Finish with a splash of grenadine and an orange wedge for garnish.
What makes the perfect margarita?
It's all about the perfect ratio. I use 2 parts tequila: 1 part triple sec: 1.75 parts lime juice.
Should I add a salt rim?
Yes. It's 100% necessary in my opinion. Feel free to add some chili powder to your salt mixture for a little added kick!
